Friends to the Rescue!

So, some friends from my neighborhood stopped by to see me yesterday unannounced,
which is totally OK with me.
They came in and chatted for a few minutes and one of the ladies says to me
"So did you ever get your bathroom painted"
because I had been talking to her about how I needed help with it.
I say "NO" with complete failure in my voice.

These are not just any ordinary ladies, they said
"Well, let's get going!!"
That's all I needed to hear.
Music to my ears!

We jumped up, they texted families and said they would be back later then expected, and we went to work. Couple hours later and we were done. SO HAPPY!
Can't wait for it to dry so I can put up my awesome shower curtain and hang some stuff and then show you the finished product.

She was very excited but a little apprehensive when she got there.
She is obsessed with everything princess.
She was so excited to have a princess shirt, backpack, dance bag, and shoes!

I'm so ready to decorate for Halloween and Fall!

I went to Michael's and Joann's yesterday to see the new Martha Halloween decor.

There are so many cute things, I wanted 1 or 2 of everything!

Here's some things I saw and would love to purchase:

You can go to THIS link to view and purchase these and more items.
I wasn't compensated for this post but MAN I sure wished I got a fun little Martha package full of this stuff on my doorway!

Decorating with White

I would say it's official
Dark, heavy colors and decor is OUT
White, light, colorful, simply is IN.

I remember going to the Parade of Homes 4 years ago and EVERY single home was painted with yellows, reds and browns, with dark heavy THICK wood.
I would describe it as "Tuscan"

Now:
EVERYTHING is about White, light colors, simple lines, bright pops of colors.
I love that this new style is in. I am so much more happy with this current trend than the last one.

All these images are Via Pinterest
My Pinterest user name is camillas

Now, I must say that is was 4 years ago that we built our home and what kinds of things do you think I picked out for my home. Brown cabinets and heavy stone for my fireplace, dark wood floors. It's not totally "Tuscan" but I do feel that I wish I could go back and changes things if I could.

Change of Direction

OK, Some of you may know that I am re-doing my main bathroom on the main floor.

I had these colors picked out and had already started painting the walls.
Valspar Paradise Blue
 Valspar Ebb Tide
and I wanted to buy this shower curtain:
But the budget was not letting me buy the shower curtain but I loved the ruffle look, so I found a cheaper one at Urban Outfitters that looks like this:
So, I bought it!
It came in the mail and I took it out and it totally clashed with the original blue colors that I had already started painting.

Well, I wanted that shower curtain MORE than I wanted those particular blue walls, So I headed off to Lowes today(with shower curtain in my hand) to buy different paint to match the shower curtain.

I came up with:
Valspar Reflection Pool
(This internet picture is not true to the color on the wall/sample card, it's the exact color of one of the ruffles of the shower curtain)
 Valspar Paradise Green
(closer to true color than the other swatch but still a bit off, again, matches one of the ruffles)
So, I started my painting project over.
 Ugg!

I can't wait for it to be finished to show you pictures!

Blog Swappin' {Living on the Chic}

Hey guys, Trissta from Living on the Chic and I are blog swapping today! Head over there and check out her really cute blog and see all her fun DIY projects she has done. She has great Interior Design ideas!

Hi, I'm Trissta.

Author of Living on the Chic, an aspiring designer, and an avid penny pincher.

I'm an Interior Design Grad Student at Utah State University, a proud condo habitant, and an avid DIY-er. I grew up in a family with six kids, so I learned to be frugal and to take care of my own things. Thus, I never pay full price for anything, unless it's food. Haha, just kidding. There are some things I've paid full price for, but it only happens once a year. With that kind of motto and a lot of creativity, I've managed to save bookooo bucks and put it towards school instead of my home. Here are some of my favorite DIY projects I've completed over the last two years...

My DIY Duvet Cover. My first and favorite DIY I've done. It's been almost two years since I've done it and I'm STILL using it on my own bed! Definitely a love-love kind of relationship.

DIY Desk. Reinventing old closet doors! I had so many of them lying around, I just knew that I had to find a new purpose for them instead of throwing them out!

Recently, I completed this DIY Chandelier. Made from Butcher Paper and an old Lamp Shade! Cost me around $6 to make. Can you say easy peasy??

And last, but not least, my DIY Headboard made from old closet doors. I had so much fun reinventing this one! It's a mix of my own modern style and recycling. :)

So stop by Living on the Chic and see what other adventures I'm up to! I can't wait to hear from you. And a big thanks to Camilla for letting me show you my talents and fun projects! She's super talented and I just love her to bits!

Thanks Trissta!
